HP SN6500B switches

Hi ,

On HP's site we saw that blade-systems are not supported for SN6500B san switches.

Does that mean we cannot connect our IBM / HP  bladecenter in this fabric ?

Are these switches recommended in production environment compared to Brocade 6510 / 6520 ?

Here are the quickspec:

http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04111398

It has Interoperability with c-class blade switches.

Could you show what you found?

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: HP SN6500B switches

Hello,

Did you find all the information you're looking for? In case you are still seeking input, I wanted to make sure you know  HP Servers Expert Day happens today.  Simply go the Blade board on the HP Enterprise Business Community and post your question between 7am EST April 28th thru 7am EST April 29th.

As the other responder commented, the quickspecs he attached showed BladeSystem support on pages 14 and 15.

You can also connect to Virtual Connect 16Gb Fibre Channel module for BladeSystem servers here (from the HP 6500B switch):

Re: HP SN6500B switches

IMHO this simply means it does not fit into a blade chassis.

You will find "supported for bladesystems" only for the "switch for c-class" systems.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
