Re: HP SVSP 3.0 - can you manually add hosts?
I am using VMA to manage the SVSP environment, are you saying there is a command view for SVSP?
The issue is I present a LUN in CV for my eva to svsp. Then SVSP creates the vdisk and presents it to the server.
I can only add hosts in VMA if it sees a WWN on the FC switch. With NPIV I need to do it in reverse which means in VMA for SVSP, I need to add a host WWN before the WWN is active on the switch.
Thus, I want to add a host before VMA can 'see' the host.

Re: HP SVSP 3.0 - can you manually add hosts?
If you have another array that allows you to mask a LUN to a non-logged in WWN, you might try a trick:
Set up zones for the ESX server(s), this array and the SVSP.
Present a single disk to the VM's virtual WWPNs and power on the VM. If NPIV is active it should also become visible to the SVSP where you can then add the host - hopefully.
