HP StorageWorks 4/16 SAN Switch how to backup

Hi,

I would like to create backup of HP StorageWorks 4/16 SAN Switch.

I' ve checked:
configDownload Load switch config from a server

configShow Print switch config parameters

but it seems to not be able to save zoning informations.

Am I wrong? or there is other command to create full dump of configuration.

Hello,

you can access the switch administrator by the webinterface. Click the "show advanced mode" button an navigate to "configure". On the bottom of the screen you will find a tab with the name "Upload/ Download".

The zoning is included in this file.

hm.. forgot to tell - only ssh/console access is possible.

From my point of view it would be best to automate this backup (every night?) so any web interface is not an option (unfortunately).

Brocade has a download area which, I think, contains code for automation, but I don't have a link, sorry - I put the command in a .TXT file and after I've made the change I simply cut&paste.

Re: HP StorageWorks 4/16 SAN Switch how to backup

thx Uwe.

I've checked configShow, and there was no information about zoning. I thought that other config* commands will provide same info as configShow and (to be honest) I didn't check it.

Of course configUpload/configDownload seems to contain zoning informations and should be enough for disaster recovery.

configUpload/configDownload is the answer

In addition to a configupload I sometimes save a copy of "cfgshow" output.
