HPSIM 6.2 - EVA4000 CVEVA 9.2
I have read loads of pages here in the forums and many of them have been very helpfull.
Unfortunately I was not able to make my EVA visible in HP SIM yet.
I have all the credentials correct and HP SIM even tells me:
Normal: This system has at least one SMI-S CIMOM installed to serve as the
storage proxy to discover storage systems.
The other thing I do not understand is the outcome of WBEMDISCO :
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>wbemdisco
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>echo Mon 12/13/2010 8:12:56.18
Mon 12/13/2010 8:12:56.18
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>echo off
WbemDisco 01.01.00

C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>
and of WBEMCAP:
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>wbemcap
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>echo Mon 12/13/2010 8:14:30.73
Mon 12/13/2010 8:14:30.73
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>echo off

PASSWD = *****

C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>
To me this seems like the EVA is there but is not there. I do not understand why WBEM can log in to "something" but can┬┤t see it.
Can somebody give me a little hint?
Thanks in advance,
Gorch

Whats teh excat error that you get while trying to discover.

Re: HPSIM 6.2 - EVA4000 CVEVA 9.2
Set up certificates between Command View Server and CMS. It is the best practice to secure communication between the CMS and the Command View Server.
NOTE: Typically, when running the HP SIM First Time Wizard, you can set up the SIM to configure the SHM trust with managed Windows servers. As a result, you need not to perform the following steps again.
However, they are here for reference only in the event SIM was not configured to automatically do this for you.
To establish security between the CMS and the EVA Host with security certificates, perform the following steps:
Log into HP SIM, and click the All Systems link to display the table of discovered devices.
In the table, click the system name of the Command View Server.
Click the System Management Homepage link.
Ensure that the Automatically Import Management Server Certificate checkbox is checked.
Login to the SMH. A screen appears indicating that the management server├в s certificate was successfully added.
Click Continue , and then close the browser window.
NOTE: This completes the certificate setup required for the Storage Management Server. You must do this for each Storage Management Server managed by the CMS.
