HSV 110 Cache Battery Replacement

Hi,

We have a EVA 5K in which one HSV 110 controller ("A") has both batteries failed. Controller "B" batteries are OK. Both controllers are configured in Active-Passive mode.

The system is in production and cannot we cannot afford downtime at the moment. My questions are:

1) Can I replace the controller "A" batteries without powering down the controller?

2) Would powering down controller "A" effect system uptime?

3) Please recommend the correct procedure to replace the batteries in controller "A", with possibly no system/application downtime.

Thanks.

Re: HSV 110 Cache Battery Replacement

Hello,

all vdisks will failover to the other controller if the batteries fail. So in your case all vdisks should be already on controller B. Do not power of the controller if you swap the batteries!

Take a look at this document. It's described the procedure.
