How to determine WWN of a given LUN on HP-UX

Hello,

We have recently introduced the HP P4000 SANs into our environment, and I have a problem where I need a fast and reliable way to determine from the OS exactly which disk device I am looking at (from the SAN perspective).

On EMC storage, we had the INQ utility which we could extract the last 2 digits of the Symmetrix serial number, and then the meta-device ID to determine exactly which symmetrix device we were looking at.

The best I have been able to determine so far is to determine the WWN of a given disk from the OS, and then match that up to the WWN displayed from the SAN. However, I can't find how to extract this WWN.

Any advice is, of course, appreciated.
I think, therefore I am... I think!

Re: How to determine WWN of a given LUN on HP-UX

commands like fcmsutil / tdutil (Depending on the FC driver you have installed in HPUX)can give information about the devices discovered in FiberChannel network. It does give WWN of the LUN .
eg. tdutil /dev/td0 get remote all (/dev/td0 is the device file for the FC Card)

If you have HP-UX 11.31:
ioscan -P wwid
