We are looking for the best way to monitor our EVA arrays.
Should we use HP/SIM, WEBES or an other tool?
Regards.
Franz.

Re: How to monitor EVA ?
performance?
faults?
For fault monitoring, I think the best combination is HPSIM+IRSA (Insight Remote Support Advanced, which includes WEBES).

Re: How to monitor EVA ?
So in case of problems, HP will give you a call to inform you about your array ... ;-)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: How to monitor EVA ?
Sould i configure HPSIM to talk to CV and then configure Webes to talk to HP/sim ?
Because, Webes seems able to monitoring directly EVA from CV server (Webes Install_Guide)
Is there some best practice to configure HPSIM +IRSA + EVA ?
In order to use Insight Remote Support Advanced should we get a suitable support contract ?
Thanks for your help.

SolutionYes.
> and then configure Webes to talk to HP/sim ?
No. Use the RSADVANCED link that Torsten has provided to install IRSA.
WEBES is included and will automatically be integrated with HPSIM during the installation.
> Because, Webes seems able to monitoring directly EVA from CV server
True, and this works with IRSA the same way, but the integration with HPSIM gives more advantages. For example you can validate the contract/product serial numbers with the HP database _before_ you need to open a call - we had one case where the serial number entered to a carepack was _slightly_ incorrect. Guess what would have happend during a call? Oh, sorry, we cannot validate your claims for the SLA - please call back tomorrow during normal business hours.

You can even use it during the standard warranty period and receive the standard SLA.
