How to remove Instant-On license from CommandView 9.1?

The Instant-On license expires, and despite having valid licenses listed, CommandView says we're not licensed because the Instant-On license is expired. How do I remove that Instant-On license?
I tried something I read in the forums where you export the licenses, clear licenses with SSSU, and then import the licenses except for the Instant-On but that did not get rid of the instant-on license.

Re: How to remove Instant-On license from CommandView 9.1?

Did you upgrade something recently? I have seen such messages during an upgrade, but all "red" lines like warnings etc. disappeared after some minutes (CV service restart). So there was no need for me to remove that lic.

When you export and import your lics, what did you remove?

Hope this helps!

Re: How to remove Instant-On license from CommandView 9.1?

Upgraded EVA 5000 to EVA 8100 exactly 60 days ago. ;) The following licenses show up in CV EVA as being installed and valid:

T5187A - HP CV EVA 5k/6k Upgd to 8k Ser Unlim Lic
T5355A - HP Bus Copy EVA5K/6K Upg to 8K Unlim LTU
T5376A - HP Cont Acc EVA5K/6K Upg to 8K Unlim LTU

I have since read that sssu clear licenses will not remove the Instant-On license. It must be that my licenses are not correct (even though CV says they're valid).

I suspect that you have upgrade licences but in this case you also need the base licence. What does it show on the actual licence screen for the EVA?

Re: How to remove Instant-On license from CommandView 9.1?

This is a very common mistake, ordering the upgrade to unlimited licenses instead of the unlimited licenses.

The upgrade licenses are not valid without at least a 1 TB base license.

Re: How to remove Instant-On license from CommandView 9.1?

while upgrading the "EVA", before making HW changes we need to upgrade CV license to unllimited. Please refer below link and search for "Upgrade Policies".

Now i believe you will have to do below actions to make CV work properly.

1)Remove all licenses
2)get fresh EVA8K unlimited license
3) Install the 8K license

Upgrade policy is same for BC/CA as CVEVA

Re: How to remove Instant-On license from CommandView 9.1?

Did you solve this problem?

I am having exactly the same problem and I can no longer manage my Eva storage.

Please, I need help!

Re: How to remove Instant-On license from CommandView 9.1?

The solution: On the left side of "command view eva" click on the Storage array with license problem. On the right side, click on refresh. If this does not work the first time, try it again and again.

Re: How to remove Instant-On license from CommandView 9.1?

The problem was that we had "upgrade" licenses installed. Needed to install the base licenses for those upgrade licenses to build on, otherwise the upgrade licenses are useless. I had to contact our HP support contract person and get it all sorted out since we didn't have the base license files around anymore. HP found them for us.
