IP Distance Gateway Auto=OK / 100MBps = NOK
Hello,
We have 2 pairs of IP Distance Gateways connected with a 50MBps connection.
When we configure the link between both sites and configure it "auto" we get a "FCIP route" which is ok.
When we try to set it fix on 100MBps Full Duplex we cannot establish a link. All ports in the chain are put at 100MBps...
Any thoughts... Any experiences?
I've put a drawing in attachment

Ah yes...
The never ending joys of 100 MegaBit Ethernet...
We've seen such behaviour with other components, too. If you've found a working combination - use it.

Re: IP Distance Gateway Auto=OK / 100MBps = NOK
fact is that we wanted to lower the link rate between the MPX110's and the core switches to "better match" the inter site link speed...
100MBps - 50MBps - 100MBps
instead of
1GB - 50MBps - 1GBPS
So, hopeless?

Re: IP Distance Gateway Auto=OK / 100MBps = NOK
Another reason is that we are quite affraid that the IP ports of the core switches where the 1GBPS to 50MBps transformation is done are overfloated and that packets are beind dropped due to buffering.
