ISL | New Switches with Existing production Switches

Hi,

We are planning to ISL our newly purchase san switches with the existing production san switches.

Our concern is once we change the domain ID of our production switches, does host end hp-ux paths are change? / our production servers gets any impact?

Regards,

Sharjeel

Hi,

"Our concern is once we change the domain ID of our production switches,"

Why not change DID on the new ones instead?

Re: ISL | New Switches with Existing production Switches

Actually we have 2 EVA's (4000/3000) in production connected with different pair old san switches and HPUX are connected with both EVA's. we cant avoid not changing domain ID on EVA4000 san switches.

EVA 4000 connected with pair of 4/8 san switches &

EVA 3000 connected with pair of 8/89 san switches.

Now we purchased new pair of 8/8 san switches with ISL licenses including ISL licenses for old pair of san switches. we are planning to ISL all 3 pair of san switches.

FABRIC A

SANSW1  EVA3000

SANSW2  EVA4000

SANSW3   New San Switches

FABRIC B

SANSW1 EVA3000

SANSW2 EVA4000

SANSW3 New San Switches
