Great document for pre work.

Do you have any documents or links in regards to the actual upgrade.
I am assumming its just a controller swap.

But would be interested to read the info myself.

Re: In PLace upgrade of eva 4400 to eva 6400

Hello Steven,

We did that and more! But not alone, HP was responsible for the upgrade of our 4400. The procedure was straight forward and simple.

The 4400 was brought down and powered off. Controllers were taken out and the two new ones and two new diskshelfs where installed. Since new disk where not installed, we had to rearrange disks, balanced i/o channels.

Afterward when everything where reconnected, the 6400 where powered on and good to go!

Only license and change the name from EVA 4400 to EVA 6400 was needed afterwards.

All in all impressive, and performance was better.

So good luck (and have HP tech avail:)
