Installing failed disk in EVA

Hi, a disk has failed in our EVA and I'm trying to install the replacement in the correct way. Using Command View EVA, clicking the disk drive tab says "the disk drive in this bay is unidentifiable'. It does not present option tabs, such as 'ungroup', 'code load', 'remove' etc etc. I think this may be due to the disk being physically removed and reinserted. This means that I can't follow the proper procedure to click the 'Remove' button and follow the Command View EVA instructions to remove the drive from the array.

Should I simply physically remove the failed drive and install the new one in the same bay and finally 'Group' the replacement drive ?? Would that work ??

Thanks for your help

Gary

Re: Installing failed disk in EVA

Since you don't have other options - yes.

Hope this helps!

Yes, but before you group the replacement disk, confirm it has the latest firmware.

Re: Installing failed disk in EVA

Yes, the drive has ungrouped/dissociated itself.
Just remove the HDD and group the new one.

Re: Installing failed disk in EVA

The disk is in and working and, as a bonus, I've learned a bit about EVA's :)

Many thanks for your help on this chaps.
