if you're running the A/A firmware on the msa, you can present LUNs from both systems to you host and build a software mirror. After the successfull completion of the mirroring process, break up the mirror and detach the MSA1000 LUN.
What kind of OS is running on the server?

Now the MSA is in Active /Standby mode.
This is BL 460c server with HBA mezanine (Dual port).

in this case you need to update to A/A firmware. Then you can use MPIO Full-Features with the DSMs for MSA1x00 and MSA2000.
