MSA 1000 with firmware 5.10 build 414 lockup

Hi,
we move the MSA1000 controller to MSA1500 cs
and we upgrade the firmware to 5.10 build 414.

but when return the controlloer to MSA1000 storage its hang with message the version is not supported on MSA1000 lockup address 0x12cc78.

how can downgrade the firmware while the MSA Hang with the previous message

Odeh,

1). Power off all servers attached to the MSA1000.
2). Just for safety, remove the drives in the internal shelf. (just unseat them)
2). Remove the EMU on the MSA1000. It is the external SCSI IO module.
3). Boot the MSA1000(5.10).
4). I would recommend flashing via the cli.
5). Once complete, power off everything, insert drives and EMU.
6). Power up MSA.

if flashing via the MSA cli, use the command >download firmware offline

dear john,
after remove the IO card and disks
I can access the CLI
but i can only connect by serial cable with 19200-8-n-1 and i cannot connect with 57600
.
** when connect with 19200-8-n-1 and try to transfere bin using xmodem its stay 1 minute without copying
then return back to CLI
but when try to use 1k xmodem its hang we cannot acess CLI until restrt MSA

You can increase the terminal speed.
>set this_controller termininal_speed 57600

Are you using hyperterm?

I already use hyperterm 57600 with 2 different machine winxp and win2003
but no result ,it work only with 19200 .

we change the baude rate from 19200 to 57600
and the hyperterm work fine as acommand line
by type :
> set this_controller terminal_speed 57600

** but when we
type download firmware offline
and send file by 1k xmodem the controller hange and nothing transfer
also when we use only xmodem nothing transfere

Are you on the Active controller?

Are you attempting to send the bin file.

1- we half singl controller
2- we try to send bin file (this process failed 0%)

Normally this works.

Make sure you use,
>firmware download offline
Don't use >firmware download online

You can try the MSA Flash tool.
