Hello all, this should be an easy one to answer. I checked the documentation and didn't see anything so thought I'd ask you guys. I have an MSA 2012FC, dual controller but with just the internal disks, no expansion shelves. I want to add an extra shelf, but will this mean any interruption to the MSA? It is "live" and serving LUNs to servers, so I need to know if the system should be shut down before adding the new shelf? Thanks

Re: MSA 2012FC add an additional shelf - offline or online?
Not sure about HP's recommendations, but imho it would be better to go offline way if you deal with entry-level storages.

hi,
offline, it's always safer anyway - see note here about additional drive enclosure :-
