So far, two of the Proliants had both their fc2142sr fiber HBAs crash during firmware upgrades.
I want to know the proper method to upgrade the 2012fc SAN to the latest firmware and drivers. I don't want issues. I will have full backups done before I attempt any upgrade.
Solved! Go to Solution.

SolutionLog onto SMU or CLI/telnet.
If successful, the MC will be up├в check MC on the other controller to confirm it is accessible.
Halt all host I/O before upgrading.
The firmware upgrade can be performed using either FTP or SMU.
If unsuccessful, the MC may be suffering from the firmware issue.
Halt all Host I/O and power cycle the array. If access is restored, verify that MC on the second controller is accessible or operational.
