MSA 2012i disk replacement

Hi All,

I need advice on replacement of a failed disk - RAID5, MSA2012i. Do i need to use exactly the same HDD as the other disks in the RAID (for example 500GB, 7200, 32MB) or i can use a 1TB disk with the same characteristics?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

it is always recomended to replare disk with HP original disk with spare part number available at failed disk if you want to stay under warranty etc.

But, if you don't care, you can use any disk of similar speed and size, if not available, use faster and/or bigger disk.
