MSA P2000fc G3 - unable to remove hosts

Hi,

What I am referring here is how to remove the SAN Switch (host) that discovered by P2000 in Storage Management Utility (SMU) ? When I tried to delete this host from SMU, I got this error meesage "The command had an invalid value (xxx) - Host xxx was discovered, so it cannot be deleted.
The command had an invalid value"

If I understand what you wrote right, you need unzone the host and the P2000.

So that the host and the P2000 are not in the same zone.

As Greg said > rename the Host to Switch 1/2 and deal with the fact that it is there. they cannot be removed.

Hi All,

Just found the solution !

- Disconnect the host to be removed(SAN Switch or HBA) from the P2000 G3 or Fabric
- Restart/Shutdown both Storage Controller in SMU. This will reset the value of "Discovered" (in host properties) to "No".
- Login to SMU and remove the host.

That seems a lot like a 'unsupported method' and chances are big that the switch will return as 'discovered' once reconnected.
