MSA raid volume expansion, extend lun question
I have a single Raid 5 volume that is split into 2 luns. Lun A is presented to Server A and Lun B is presented to Server B. Lun A is running out of disk space, so I want to add more drives to the raid 5 volume. Can I expand the volume ? and can I extend the Lun A so that windows see more disk space available ?

Re: MSA raid volume expansion, extend lun question
If it is a Smart Array based MSA ei MSA1000/1500), then the answer is no.
You can extend Logical drive B, not A.
If it is a MSA2000, it should be possible.

Re: MSA raid volume expansion, extend lun question
In case of a Smart Array.
I assume, you mean, that you've got 1 array (Array A) with 2 logical disk's that is RAID 5.
Different technologies use diferent terms.

Re: MSA raid volume expansion, extend lun question
First you must expand the VDISK
Second you must expand the volume.
Select.
Provisioning > Expand vdisk
go on from there.
Select
Tools > expand volume
go on from there.
Again download the reference guide and read.
