MSA1000 Deleting LUN

Hi All

We have a HP MSA1000 linked up to several servers via SAN Switches.

My question however is linked to deleting LUNs on the MSA1000...

We have several logical drives assigned on the MSA but I cannot seem to delete any of them (except for the last one)... This is really bad as many of these logical drives are no longer in use and I cannot regain the hard disk space from the SAN...

I cannot delete the last LUN as this has important data on for my Windows 2008 cluster.

Is there a way around this?

I have attached a screen shot of the ACU within Windows 2008 in case it helps...

They use the same MSA1000 controller module and these days even use the same firmware image.

Don't expect any improvements.

Make sure you have a good backup
before you 'bite the bullet'
and delete the last logical disk
with all the important data.

Re: MSA1000 Deleting LUN

Was it different before?

I thought the major difference 'now' with the MSA1000/MSA1500cs was that there is a little more memory in the 1500.

Re: MSA1000 Deleting LUN

Different meta-data, different I/O modules.
'Support' or not for this #$@*% MSA20.
The MSA1000 can address 3*14=42,
the MSA1500cs 4*14=56 disk drives.

I don't remember if there was a difference in cache memory support.
