MSA1000 with two node cluster (Win2003 EE)

New Setup:
Configuration:
MSA1000 + One MSA30
F/W on MSA1000 : 4.48
MSA Hub: 2/3

MPIO Version 1.40

Two Cluster Nodes:
DL380 G5

Each node have one HP FC2242SR 4Gb PCI-e DC HBA 2 port (A8003A) HBA Emulex Card
OS: Windows 2003 EE 64 bit

Whenever I reboot passive node the entire cluster resources get down while scanning the scsi bus.

Then i need to re-enable the cluster resources to make this working.

Have you found a solution to this problem? I'm facing a very similar situation. If you have any information to share, I'd appreciate it.

Re: MSA1000 with two node cluster (Win2003 EE)

I have seen something like this on an MSA with direct fibre connection (instead of going through a switch) and it was caused by the HBA sending a test pulse at POST that hangs the MSA controller thereby knocking both nodes off the storage. on the older HBAs there was a jumper that disabled the test pulse but it's not on the new ones so you may need a switch to shield the MSA from it. I notice that the San in a Box from HP no longer comes without a switch, this may be why.
