I need to move a logical drive that is presented to server A so that it is presented to server B instead using the Access Control (SSP) screens in ACU.
Is there an order of steps that I should take for this, such as:
a) offline to drive on Server A (diskmgmt)
b) de-select the LUN from Server A in in SSP
c) present the storage to server B in SSP
d) online & format drive on server B (diskmgmt)
Thanks in advance

Re: MSA1500 change Logical drive presentation
can you use ACU or do you have to use the CLI? Depending on your tool to do the presentation your steps seems to be right. Do you need the data on the volume? If you need the data, you shouldn't format the volume. :)
Regards,
Patrick

Re: MSA1500 change Logical drive presentation
I was wondering if there are any gotchas with the MSA1500 controller that I might need to be aware of before going ahead, but by all accounts it should be straightforward do you agree??
Thanks again

Re: MSA1500 change Logical drive presentation
The drive I'm looking to shift around is a SATA drive on a MSA20 shelf - will this cause problems as I know there are no end of stories doing the rounds of problems with this config (the SATA drives are 750GB).
The firmware version of the MSA1500 is 7.20
