MSA2000 one regular one enhanced controller

Hi

We bought an HP StorageWorks 2012fc Single Controller Modular Smart Array with partnumber AJ742A.

We ordered an additional controller and added the new controller to the array. The status of both controllers in SMU is OK. But the new controller is an enhanced FC controller. Does it matter? What's the difference?

Also, were in SMU can i see if the disks are single I/O or double I/O?
THanks

Re: MSA2000 one regular one enhanced controller

Celeron 566MHz, used in a standard controller module
Pentium III 700MHz, used in an enhanced FC controller module.

No idea what happens if you mix them, I've never tried but I don't think it's a good idea. To identify the disk type put the part number into HP Partsurfer and the description should tell you if they are single or dual ported.

Re: MSA2000 one regular one enhanced controller

What I did is order an additional controller at an HP partner, specifying it was for an MSA2012FC and they delivered me an enhanced controller which is meant for an MSA2212fc.

Can both controllers work together? Have the msa2012fc controllers been discontinued?

Is there any precise information about this?

thanks
