MSAp2000 and D2700
Hi all,
we have a MSA P2000 with 2 FC controller + D2700 and two DL380 VMware Hosts with 2 FC ports for each server.
Now we have 2 fabric sitches. So the P2000 is connected to each switch with 2 FC ports from both controller(p2000).
So P2000 has 4 fc cabel connected to both fc switches. And each of he both dl380 vmware hosts are connected with one fc cable to the switch 1 and with other cable to the switch 2. So i have a maximum redundancy.
But this config was needed only for the migration from old hardware. So now i would like to remove both fabric swicthes and to wire the P2000 direct with both hosts.
The p2000 has two controlle with two fc ports per each controller. So i would connect controller A with Host A and B and the same with contrller B.
and I have some lun's running which icluded both devices p2000 a d2700.
Now my question is there something a have to be carfull with by recabling the devices? I think it shoudl works wthout any problems and the luns will be availble aftere reboot or Im wrong?
PS. I have explicit mapping for all LUNS to all 4 fc crads in both dl380 servers.
Thanks

Re: MSAp2000 and D2700
You should cable like this:
and check the host port connection settings ("loop" is it called here, IIRC).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: MSAp2000 and D2700
thanks, but i allready know the cabling plan. My question is only do i have to be carefull with something?
I mean i don't want to loose my luns or connections aftre the reboot of the system
PS. what do i have to check with loop? what should i have or not to setup?

Re: MSAp2000 and D2700
at the moment with the fabric switches the 4 hosts interface are set to loop and the "Soft" is not enabled.
should be ok i think for now and after i have removed the switche as well or what do you think?
