Models of SAN Switches and transceivers
Hi,
I have several transceivers AJ716B (HP 8Gb Shortwave B-series Fibre Channel) reminders of other installation.
On the other hand, I have FC San switches 8/24 AM868A that we bought two years ago with transcievers AJ716A.
The recent 8/24 SAN switches quickspecs shows only AM868B switches, no infomation for AM868A.
My question is:
Is it posible to use AJ716B SFP in AM868A switches ?
What is the difference between switches AM868A vs AM868B ? And between transceivers AJ716A and AJ716B ?
Please, provide any clues according your experience.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Models of SAN Switches and transceivers
Hi
the best information can be found in the quickspecks of the switches on HP site. but if you just put the SFP in the switch port and it gives all details about the SFP when you give the command "sfpshow" in cli then it should work. If there is a problem with the SFP you usually see "MOD INV" in the switch port.
Regards
