Anyone got a recommendation for a free tool which can be used for monitoring Brocade san switches. Customer wants alerts when fan, power, ftp modules etc failes.

As far as I can remember you could monitor switches using ISEE.

Both of these program s talk(ed) backed to HP SIM and/or ISEE.
For a simple configuration where ISEE might not be installed... HP SIM should work.

Brocade switches can send log messages to a syslog server. You could combine this with a program that monitors the syslog on the server.

there is also the Cacti/Thomb tool, which allows you to continuously SNMP monitor (with the thresholds) all the switches and have it all in graphs and online...
