Mounting the replicated HP EVA LUN in remote site - Offline
Hi Experts,
We have a replication solution using Continous Access on two HP EVA8100. The hosts are running with OS SOLARIS 10. We have succeessfully tested the faileover and able to mount the DR LUN when DR is active. Now we want to test this in offline by suspending the replication. That is at primary site the array will be active as source and the LUNs are presented to pramary hosts and filesystems mounted and application is running. We will stop the replication by suspending. and want to mount the DR LUNs to DR server on read-write mode to test the application as per the requirement from the application team. After the activity we will unmount the filesystem and will resume the replication from primary to DR. is there any issues if we doing this test. During the test the destination LUN will be mounting to the DR server ( replication win be suspended). Could you please advise.
Thanks in advance..
Regards,
Pramod

Re: Mounting the replicated HP EVA LUN in remote site - Offline
Without failover of the DR group is it possible to mount the DR LUNs (Destination LUNs) on the DR Server on read-write mode? The replication will be suspended during this test.
Any experience...

Re: Mounting the replicated HP EVA LUN in remote site - Offline
Hi
with out fail over you can not mount destination luns because they are in read only mode.
what you can do is create a snapshot and use it as a disk for your test this is the best way
as you can resume replication once you have created snapshots.
