N_PORT_ID and FCID

do you know if these two terms have the same meaning? are they the same?

Yes, N_Port ID is SNIA terminology and FCID I've heard from CISCO. Both mean the 24-bit Fibre Channel address (not to be confused with the 64-bit World Wide Name/WWN).

Yes N_Port_ID and FCID are same.

Note : In Brocade from FCID you can make out the port number to which the Node is connected.

For eg: If the FCID is 010300

Here 01 - Indicates the Domain ID of the switch ( which can be found from switchshow command)

03 - Indicates the port number on switch where the Node is connected.

00 - is the ALPA for Fabric connected this would be 00

Once the Fabric login process is completed check the FCID using - nsshow command. Equivalent command for cisco is
"show fcns database"
