Need a Extended Fabric????

I've 2 sites separated about 12km, now we want to connect both sites with DWDM. In a every site I've a brocade Silkworm 200 switch with same FabOS (6.0.0b).

Is mandatory the Extend Fabric License???

For distances about 10-12Km with DWDM is mandatory for technical reasons or only for play with buffers credits?

Hi,

you can connect the switches, and if all necessary parameters are correct (Zoning Config, different Domain IDs, etc.), then the switches will form a fabric even without the Extended Fabric License. But since the distance is more than 10km, you should get the Extended Fabric, so it can allocate enough buffer credits. I don't know what will happen if you don't get the license.
It might report "Buffer Limited" on the E-Ports

Its mandatory to have license for both reasons mentioned by stephen the Buffer and as well as Technical(Performancs and Vendor Support).
