Not able to delete discovered host in MSA2312fc Storage

Hi Team ,


We have HP MSA2312fc. We are able to add the new host based on wwn in our Storage Management Utility but unable to delete or undiscover any discovered . Any suggestions will be appreciated to delete\undiscover the host.

hi there,

1.Make sure there is no mapping.
2. need to set the LUN as not a Explicit mapping. Can follow these steps and get back to us with the results.

Right click the volume then go to > Provisioning > Explicit Mappings

To delete an explicit mapping

1. In the Maps for Volume table, select the Explicit mapping to delete.
2. Clear Map.
3. Click Apply. A message specifies whether the change succeeded or failed.
4. Click OK. The mapping returns to the Default mapping.

Thanks for reply. I have checked the mapping again..there is no LUNs (default or explicit) mapped with the host. Any other suggestions?

Hi,
after hosts disconnect you should restart both storage controllers (initially first and in 2 minutes second). After that all undiscovered hosts will disappear from the management interface.
