Hi!
We have an old EVA 4400 running FW 09534000, CV 10.0.0.110920, I know we are a few Firmware versions behind so I would like to keep this storage updated.
What is the latest, stable, firmware version we can upgrade to these days?

Re: OLD EVA 4400 Upgrade and Command View Question
I have EVA 4400 running on 9.4. I would like to go for 10.2.
I have another server for test purpose where I would like to test this before I go ahead with the install.
We will only install as old server is running with 2003 OS so will be formatted and reinstalled with 2008 R2.
Please help in understanding
How can I have 2 command view setups on different servers?
If I format and install new command view will that impact existing storage?
If I connect new management server would there be data loss or any initialization leading to outage?
Is there any document for this which will help?
We dont want to touch firmware on Array and just want command view updated. would this cause any firmware upgrade on EVA4400 automatically which may cause issues?

Re: OLD EVA 4400 Upgrade and Command View Question
This is command view. Consider to use 10.3, patch to 10.3.2.
You can have multiple CV servers running, you need to activate the server you want to use (EVA will appear as unmanaged in the inactive server). This will not impact the data on the array at all. No outage.
What firmware is running on the EVA?
Consider to upgrade the ABM (WOCP) too!!!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: OLD EVA 4400 Upgrade and Command View Question
Hello,
I have to update an EVA4400 from XCS 09534000 million to xcs 11200000.
The command view is version 9.2.
I will proceed in the following way:
I will remove the command view 9.2 and I will install the command view 10.3.
I'll update the firmware storage XCS from 09534000 to 10001000 then to 11200000.
Finally, I'll update the the wcop module using abm present in command view dvd 10.3.
The wcop can be upgraded directly to the latest version or I have to make some intermediate steps?
This is the correct upgrade path?
Thank you
greetings

Re: OLD EVA 4400 Upgrade and Command View Question
I would start with the WOCP, you can directly go to the latest version (it is included in the CV 10.3.1 patch).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: OLD EVA 4400 Upgrade and Command View Question
Thanks for the reply.
I would like to divide the work in two days.
On the first day I'll update the wcop and commnad view.
On the second day I will update the firmware XCS and discs.
I can update the WOCP and after a few days I can update XCS?
Or I have to update the WCOP and soon after I have update XCS?
The update of WOCP module can be done safely with storage in production as it does not cause any problems, correct?
thanks greetings

Re: OLD EVA 4400 Upgrade and Command View Question
The WOCP firmware includes CV, it can work with all supported versions of XCS.
The latest WOCP version 0002.3000 is supported with XCS 10001000 or newer, but works with lower versions too (can be used for upgrading).
Don't worry, upgrade WOCP and CV server and plan the time for the XCS update.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
