Hello Darryl,

yes, you might give it a try and remove the additional paths. But the mass storage stack in 11iv3 has been completely reworked and what was working with previous versions might not be working with v3 anymore. 11iv3 does have a built in device multipathing capabilities. Are you using legacy or persistent device files ?

The ioscan -fnC disk shows only the local disks. We did see some LUNs once and were able to connect to them and use them VxVM. The LUNs didn't show up until our SAN admin created one additional LUN as a test. When that was done the server saw the test LUN and one of the other LUNs previously unavaiable. We decided at that point that maybe recreating all the LUNs was the answer. However, that did not work. After recreating all the LUNs ther server was back to not seeing any LUNs at all.

Have you rebooted the server since then? If not either reboot the server or see if you need to go through a "fcmsutil/replace_dsk" process. Take a look at page 29 of http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-5288/5991-5288.pdf

Also check the fiber card and ensure all devices are there starting on page 12 of http://docs.hp.com/en/A6795-90007/A6795-90007.pdf

Another thing to look at is if there are any firmware upgrades needed for the server and the FC cards for 11.31.

Make sure you have a lun mapped as lun 0 on the Xiotech array. We had the same problem until I created lun 0.
