Reset CommandView EVA Password

I am looking to find out how to reset CV password but I am not an Administrator on the server CV is installed on.

Can the password be reset with not having Administrator privileges??

Thanks!!

Re: Reset CommandView EVA Password

We first need to know which version of CV is involed.

The early versions did use the old embedded System Management Homepage authentication and you had to use the "elmsetup" program.

Later versions use Windows authentication and the membership to the "HP Storage Admins/Users" group defines if/what access rights a user has.

Re: Reset CommandView EVA Password

Hi
As Uwe says above.
You have CV6.x so if you do not have an a/c on the server then just create one and give yourslef the "HP Storgae Admins" privs. If you have an a/c then just give yourself the privs.
You should now be able to login into CV with your user/pwd.

But you need administrative access to the system for these type of changes, don't you?

Re: Reset CommandView EVA Password

Hi,

What sort of machine is CV EVA running on ?

If it's a SAN Management Appliance (SMA), then maybe the Administrator password is still set to the default value...

Cheers,

Re: Reset CommandView EVA Password

It is not a SMA just a stand alone server with CV loaded on it. But since I dont have Admin rights I can not login to CV.
