SAN Visibility Tool - connecting to hosts

How does SAN Visibility Tool v5.0 get information from hosts?
Our network has everything closed unless needed. I've got the SAN switches in the tool just fine but I can't get it to connect to any servers. I get a error code of 403 about credentials but the credentials are fine. I suspect whatever port it's using is blocked.

Thanks

Re: SAN Visibility Tool - connecting to hosts

Sound like we do similiar sort of things (SAN/EVA440/IRS) and suffer the same sort of issues

I have looked up the manual referred and 403 simply suggests check credentials

Credentials are valid IRS is reporting on this server with the same credentials

Re: SAN Visibility Tool - connecting to hosts

Is the server you are trying Windows Server 2008 R2?

I found this:

Supported operating systems
The following operating systems support host discovery:
├в ┬в Microsoft Windows 2003 Standard or Enterprise edition - Service Pack 2
├в ┬в Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 1 (x86)
├в ┬в Microsoft Windows 2003 R2
├в ┬в Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 2 X64
├в ┬в Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 1 IA64
├в ┬в HP-UX 11.23
├в ┬в HP-UX 11.31
├в ┬в Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
├в ┬в SUSE Linux 9
├в ┬в SUSE Linux 10
├в ┬в SUSE Linux 11
├в ┬в ESX 3.0
├в ┬в ESX 3.5
├в ┬в ESX 4.0
├в ┬в Hyper V

Maybe R2 is not supported

Just tried 2003, same result

Re: SAN Visibility Tool - connecting to hosts

We are also having the same issue. The account name and password entered are all valid. Has anyone else found a solution or work around? Our server is Windows Standard 2003 SP2.

I solved this by turing off UAC and creating a local account on each server for the Auth...
