Re: Total Number of disks in a DG at EVA 4400
Steven - What I wanted to know is the total number of disks that I can have in one Disk Group in an EVA 4400. So what you are saying is 96 disks that can be in a single disk group if I read you right?
From HP WBT that I was going through it says 56 disks in a Disk Group is the maximum and 8 is the minimum. I need to confirm that.
Also the maximum number of disk groups in an EVA 4400 is 7.
Yohan\Sudhakar - Thanks for the additional reading. However I was not able to find any information in relation to my query. If yopu are able to identify an answer there for me I'd appreciate.

Re: Total Number of disks in a DG at EVA 4400
Disk Group parameters;
- a minimum of 8 physical disks
- a maximum of all physical disks within the array
* EVA 5000 & EVA8000 maximum is 240
*EVA 6000 maximum is 112
* EVA3000& EVA4000 maximum is 56
If you are able to clarify if the 56 is refering to the total number of disks in a disk group. Appreciate your further assistance on this.

Re: Total Number of disks in a DG at EVA 4400
EVA 4000 and EVA4400 are different
EVA 4000 Can support maximum 4 Enclosures with 14 HDD each so maximum is 56.
EVA 4400 supports maximum 8 Enclosures with 12 HDD each so maximum is 12x8 is 96.

Re: Total Number of disks in a DG at EVA 4400
Yes. The EVA4400 is NOT an EVA4000... as stated above.
"From HP WBT that I was going through it says 56 disks in a Disk Group is the maximum and 8 is the minimum. I need to confirm that.
Also the maximum number of disk groups in an EVA 4400 is 7."
On an EVA4000, you can have a maximum of 56 disks. 56 / 8 = 7 disk groups.
On an EVA4400, you can have a maximum of 96 disks. 96 / 8 = 12 disk groups maximum.
There is a 6400 and an 8400 as well... not the same at the 6000 or 8000.
