Unintilized Storage System

Hello,
I have a commandview window with my HSV100 shown as

User: 0047
Group: administrator
Request: /ResEltCpqFusion/HSV100V300/NodeProp

----------------------------

Does anyone know why?

Here is my applications.
Everything was from the restore-cd.

command view eva 3.0.0.390 Running
Compaq Management Agents 6.30 Running

Thanks for your help.

Re: Unintilized Storage System

Very old Command View version.

What firmware has the EVA3000?
Did you update it recently?

Check connectivity with the EVA, see if the controllers appear on Windows Device manager

Try to reboot the appliance.

Re: Unintilized Storage System

Hello,

is this a Storage Management Appliance? If yes, which version?

Re: Unintilized Storage System

Hi,

As hinted at by the other replies, you have probably got a version of Command View EVA that is incompatible with the VCS version on the EVA.

Is the EVA3000 operational ?

Why did you restore the SMA ?

Re: Unintilized Storage System

Thanks for the responses.

I also think it might have been a version conflict.

I bought it from a company and I had to use the restore cd on the Management appliance.

Here is the HSV info..
HSV 100-v3028

Here is the HBA FW.
Emulex LightPulse LP9002 2 Gigabit PCI Fibre Channel Adapter
Firmware 3.92a2

Re: Unintilized Storage System

You need at least Command View 4.1.x to manage VCS 3028.

I can provide you the links to Command View 4 or 5, but it would be a better idea to convert that management appliance to a general Windows server and install CV 6.02 at least.

Management appliances and their embeded Windows 2000 OS are out of support. Firmware 3028 is out of support too, you should update to 3110.

Re: Unintilized Storage System

Thanks,
I have upgraded to CV EVA V6.0.2 Build 37
Now I can't see any of the HSV's.
Discover finds nothing.

Re: Unintilized Storage System

Nevermind,
It wiped my storage system password.
I added it and now it's working...
thanks to all.

Re: Unintilized Storage System

Can you see the EVA controllers on Windows Device Manager?

Try to install a more recent HBA driver.
