Using Command View for an EVA4000, I have unpresented a virtual disk from a HP UX host. On the system management homepage for the HP UX host, the physical disk has a state of offline. My question is what do I need to do such that the physical disk, volumes groups and logical volumes that are associiated with the unpresented virtual disk do appear on the HP UX host.
The HP UX host is a rx3600 server running 11.31.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Solution
Normally you first do this on the host:
- remove the LVOLS
- remove the VG
- remove the device files
then you unpresent the LUN.
But now you can only "vgexport" that LUN.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Unpresent virtual disk from HP UX host
Once no FS or Vol Mgr is using the LUN, you can completely remove it by running "rmsf -x" (this removes stale entries from the HP-UX ioconfig database).
