I found some really old 4/8 and 4/16 B-Series switches at a customers site. Customer wants to upgrade to the latest FabOS. Am I right in thinking that I have to update the switches from 5.1.x to the latest 5.2.x, then to the latest 5.3.x -> 6.0.x -> 6.1.x and then to the latest 6.2.x? I found some infos from Brocade, but they advice to go to 5.2.0 -> 5.3.0 -> 6.0.0 etc., and not the latest available release of each FabOS familiy.
Any hints?
Best regards,
Patrick

SolutionYou should be able to go from 5.1.x to 5.3.1 then 6.0.0b, then 6.2.x.
You probably won't find the 5.3.x easily, but there are many posts here in the forums about this with links to other sites for it.

... but I do have the 6.1.x firmware in my working folder for the customer so I must have had to do it.

Re: Update B-Series 5.1.x to 6.2.x
thanks a lot guys for clarification. I have all needed FabOS versions in my software depot, but it's just a boring job. It takes time, a lot of time. ;) I knew, why I recommend that customers have to update their switches on a regularly base...
Best regards,
Patrick
