Using 4gb SFP on HP StorageWorks 8/8

Hello all,

I have a brand new HP SW 8/8 SAN Switch with the part number AM866A and i want to use some 4gb SFP (PN=A7446B) that i have from an older san switch.
Is this possible?

Thanks in Advance

May be or may not be running, but not supported.

You must use AJ715A SFP's

4 GB GBICs are supported in the HP StorageWorks 8 GB Brocade switches. They must be Brocade GBICs. A7446B WOULD be supported in the 8/8.

Thanks for your answers.

For some reason the SFPs (A7446B) aren't working.
The san switch only have 4 sfps and they are all the same type (A7446B).

Should i make some kind of special configuration?

Thanks again,

Re: Using 4gb SFP on HP StorageWorks 8/8

Sorry Terry,

last year, i had another sound from Brocade which says the only supported SFPs in Short Wave are :

- AJ716A for 8/4/2 gbs
- AJ715A for 4/2/1 gbs

Si, i have some customers who tried A7446B SFPs without success

My mistake. IPMartin is correct.

AJ715A for a 4 GB sfp that works in a Brocade 8 GB switch.
