VMware won't show EVA P6300 LUN

Hello,

We have an EVA P6300 FC disk array connected to 4 Proliant servers, two of them running VMware ESX 4.1 and the other two running VMware 4.0.  The ones that are running v4.1 can display the LUNs created in the EVA (two 2TB Vdisks), but the ones that are running v4.0 cannot show one of this LUNs.  I've recreated the Vdisk several times, but I cannot get them to be seen by these two nodes.  Do you have any any idea what the problem could be?

Re: VMware won't show EVA P6300 LUN

Hello,

So to confirm: two of your VMWare hosts cannot see any LUNs from the P6300?

Check zoning and that you have correct mode on the host ports.

If you move the non-working hosts to the ports on the P6300 where the working ones are connected, do the non-working ones work?

As far as http://h20272.www2.hp.com/Index.aspx#array_os_eva goes it looks like it should be supported.

Could it be a size limitations in VMWare 4.0 ? Does it work if you create less than 2TB luns?

Does the server even see the EVA as a target?

Check the Storage Adaptors on the Configuration Tab in vCenter to check to make sure yo ucan see the EVA.

Do these servers have other vdisks presented to them from the same EVA that are working properly?
