What is the "Microsoft MPIO Framework" during HP MPIO DSM install on Windows Server 2008?
Hi,
I was just wondering...what is the "Microsoft MPIO Framework" that can be selected during the installation of the HP MPIO DSM for EVA on Windows Server 2008?
The installation routine states that the Microsoft Multipath IO feature is enabled on the system but it is recommended to select only the HP DSM for installation.
I have read through the HP MPIO DSM support document (http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01387306/c01387306.pdf) but have not found what the Microsoft framework is intended for.
What can I do with it and what is the reason I should not install it?
Thanks

Re: What is the "Microsoft MPIO Framework" during HP MPIO DSM install on Windows Server 2008?
Hello Sam,
In windows 2008 is multipath natively supported by Microsoft MPIO Framework - integral part of OS. So you do not need install it, just install Manager software - DSM for EVA.
