Wiping or erasing data on a HP EVA3000 SAN
I have decomimssioned all servers which were connected to our HP EVA3000 SAN. The HP EVA3000 will also be decommssioned.
Please note data on the HP EVA3000 sensitive.
Can anyone please let me how to erase all the data on the disks as we plan to decommission the HP EVA3000. What is the easiest and safest way to erase the data.
Thank you

Re: Wiping or erasing data on a HP EVA3000 SAN
Without getting tooooo fancy:
Un-initialize it.
Re-initialize it. (this is typically enough for "most" companies)
Create some virtual disks
Run your favorite destructive disk exerciser.
Un-initialize it.
Done.
Or you can simply take a hammer to all of the drives.
Drop all the drives off of a 40 story building.
Submerse all the drives into a vat of some gooey substance (after taking out the screws labeled "do not remove").
lets see... what else cn you do.

Re: Wiping or erasing data on a HP EVA3000 SAN
Thank you Steven,
You mentioned about the destructive disk exerciser. How can I get this to run on our HP EVA3000 SAN?
Normally, with servers I boot up DBAN disk eraser to wipe the data but what is the procedure to run the destructive exerciser on the HP SAN?
I am aware I could put all the disks in melting pot.
