Re: XCS Firm code upgrade/ Command View Licence
I guess the problem Uwe is talking about is that an EVA can NOT be managed with CV 6 again after it has been managed with CV 9. We have seen this problem a few times here while testing different EVAs and different CV version from 6 to 9.
So CV 6 -> CV 9 -> CV 6 is not possible unless the EVA is reinitialized.

Re: XCS Firm code upgrade/ Command View Licence
Indeed, that is _another_ problem with careless CV uprades.
But what I was talking about is that you cannot seriously manage an EVA without a valid license.
Beleive me - we had one customer where a competitor did the upgrades to XCS/CV-V7 without caring for the new license keys. After 180 days(!) a disk drive failed and the customer was unable to manage the replacement.
Many of us remember that the transition to CV-V7 was, well, how should I put it?
"less than optimal handled by the vendor"
Even today I see problems when there were slight changes during order processing.
