XP20000 and ThP V-Vol expansion

Hi,
I'm trying to find out if I can grow a V-Vol on a USP-VM (XP2000) with any tool other than Raid Manager. For example Device Manager or Storage Navigator (these two may have different names in the HP world, but I'm talking about the GUI).
The fw is 60-06-21-00/00 so I believe that dynamic V-Vol expansion is supported.
Thanks in advance,
Sebastian.-

Hi Sebastian,

I dont think you can increase a V-Vol using Storage Navigator or HDvM.

From the HDS Webtech

Increasing DP-VOL (V-VOL) Capacity
├в DP-VOL can be expanded offline for any OS, Volume Manager and/or file system that can accept a read capacity change
├в Dynamic online volume expansion is supported for Windows Server 2008, Windows 2003, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0, AIX 5.3 and 6.1, Sun Solaris10, Open VMS 8.3, and HP-UX 11.31
├в Use RAID Manager (CCI Version: 01-22-03/06)

It seems that only the last V-VOL in the group can be resized.

Re: XP20000 and ThP V-Vol expansion

Thanks BIJU.
It is true that only the last V-VOL can be expanded... In the latest firmware (by default) you can't create more than one V-VOL per group (I believe that this can be disabled by the CEs).

Sebastian.-
