cascading MDS9124e blades
Hi,
I have two HP C7000 blade enclosures with two Cisco MDS9124e SAN blades in each enclosure.
I have cascaded the Left hand MDS 9124e on the first enclosure to the Left HAnd MDS 9124e on the second Enclsure.
I had ensured that the VSAN domain IDs were different on both the blades , i.e 25 n the first and 3 on the second.
The status of the ISL (external) ports on both the blades show as "Status: up,Multi-VSAN ISL"
and the show fcdomain cmmand on the first switch which has the zones :
show fcdomain
VSAN 1
The local switch is the Principal Switch.
Local switch run time information:
State: Stable
Local switch WWN: 20:01:00:0d:ec:47:67:81
Running fabric name: 20:01:00:0d:ec:47:67:81
Running priority: 2
Current domain ID: 0x19(25)
Local switch configuration information:
State: Enabled
FCID persistence: Enabled
Auto-reconfiguration: Disabled
Contiguous-allocation: Disabled
Configured fabric name: 20:01:00:05:30:00:28:df
Optimize Mode: Disabled
Configured priority: 128
Configured domain ID: 0x00(0) (preferred)
Principal switch run time information:
Running priority: 2
Interface Role RCF-reject
---------------- ------------- ------------
ext4 Downstream Disabled
---------------- -------------
While the show fcdomain on the second switch shows
show fcdomain
VSAN 1
The local switch is a Subordinated Switch.
Local switch run time information:
State: Stable
Local switch WWN: 20:01:00:0d:ec:b0:74:01

Principal switch run time information:
Running priority: 2
Interface Role RCF-reject

When i try to use Cisco "device manager " to access "quick configuration" i get the error
"This Wizard only supports a Single Switch Fabric Following ISL port must be disabled e4"
e4 is the ext 4 port t which i have connected the ISL on both the SAN blades.
Kindly let me know if i am missing out anything
Thanks in Advance
Dominic
