command view 8.0

Does anyone know if this is still available for download, and if so where it's hiding?

Re: command view 8.0

No, updates to 8.01 and 8.02 are still on the FTP but the 8.0 installer has been removed.

Any reason to need 8.0 specifically? CV 9.2 is compatible with all the current firmware versions.

Looks like there's a copy here:

Re: command view 8.0

"current" being the problem. I have one arrived on f/w 9003000 that needs updating but we only have 5000s and 8000s on the CV6 server and our other 4400s are on 09522000 on CV9.1 servers so I can't see it grr need to run up a cv 8 server to update the firmware to 09522000.

Re: command view 8.0

XCS 09003000 is supposed to be compatible with CV 9.1 and 9.2 (See Enterprise Virtual Array Compatibility Reference). You can update it directly to 09522000.

And, even is you have a non compatible FW version, there's a note on the lastest Compatibility Table that says:

Where an HP Command View EVA version (or HP Replication Solutions Manager) is not supported with a particular XCS version, the HP Command View EVA version (or HP Replication Solutions Manager) is supported for the purposes of upgrading to the latest XCS version.
For example, you are currently running XCS 09001000 and want to upgrade to XCS 09522000. Although XCS 09001000 is not supported with HP Command View EVA 9.1, you can upgrade to version 9.1 while the array is running XCS 09001000 and then upgrade to XCS 0952x000.

Re: command view 8.0

I know that it's supposed to be possibble but since the EVA fails to show up in CV9.1 I can't use it to do the firmware. The connections however are fine (FC and LAN) and I can see the man module but this is no use for the firmware upgrade, what HP says will work and what really happens is a bit hit and miss in the 4400 world unfortunatly.

Re: command view 8.0

restarted EVA with single controller from another one which had 9522 then installed original next to it and cloned.
