disk uncompatible on EVA6300
hi,
I have added EVA SAS disks with below info :
on front of the disks : Spare parts number : 583718-1 and ont he back of the disks :
HP Model : EF0600FATFF
HP P/N : 533871-003
wite sticket : GPN 635330
Firmware : HPD7
to an existing storage EVA 6300 that has disks with attached specs,
I still cant group the disks with existing ones that are in 2 types :
model number : EF0600FATFF, firmware version : HPDB
model number EF0600FARNA, firmware verison HPD6
please advise if we can resolve the issue without changing again the disks (this is 2nd time we change them), if its the only option please advise correct model ,
thanks for your quick answer as clientt has production waiting for this extra capacity since 2 months

Re: disk uncompatible on EVA6300
Model EF0600FATFF can be used on Servers as will as EVA.
However an EVA bit needs to be set by the Vendor or supplier before shipping for use in EVA.
Hence make sure the EVA bit is set before using the drive for EVA.

Re: disk uncompatible on EVA6300
Hi,
thanks for your answer,
so if I understand well, even upgrading the Firmware from HPD7 to HPDB will not ensure disks will be work with the EVA ??
also, if we keep HPD7 firmware and set the evat bit , disk will work with the EVA?
please can you provide procedure to set the EVA bit ??
actually we have tried an array of disks twice and we still face the same problem
thank you for quick answer

Re: disk uncompatible on EVA6300
There is no procedure or tool to set the EVA bit.
It is a factory setting and it has to be taken care by the supplier/Vendor.
