Hi All,
We have 6 servers & one EVA storage installed in one rack, which is now connected through one san switch.
We would like to add the secondary san switch to ensure more redundancy & availability.
The servers are proliant580 servers which having windows or Redhat linux OS.
I think. these are the steps i have to follow.
1. install sec switch in rack
2. do cabling
3. create zones
4. add secondary fc card wwn in storage host profile.
is this enough to enable multi pathing ??
how the linux & windows will detect the eva luns through secondary switch path ?
I know hp-ux detect it it as pvlink ....
do i need to take server downtime to complete this activity?
pls suggest ..
Prasanth

Re: enable mutipathing for windows & redhat linux servers - eva storage
1.Install new switch and configure
2.Install the sec HBA on host side
3.Run Cable between Host and Switch
4.Create zone for each server and activate zone set.
5.Add sec WWN in EVA Hosts
6.Insall Multipath software in Windows and reboot.
7.Reboot will automatically scan new disk and multipath software will automattically configure the sec path.
8.Set the Load balance policy if you want.
Thanks

THhanks for your quick response.
which mutipathing software is required for EVA storage luns ?
After installing this, does it create additional device files for existing luns?
am i need to export & import the vgs with device files??
how its going to work on windows ??

SolutionFor Windows, you can install MPIO software(EVA) .But the version you need to check the support matrix in SPOCK as per your FW Version.
After installing you will see only one disk in disk management for one vdisk .
Thanks
