eva8000 zoning
Hi,
We have 2 eva8000 and are using CA replication.the EVA's are in separate data centres.All severs are dual hba and we have 2 switches in each fabric
Can someone advise as to best pratice for zoning.
i.e should each server be zoned to see all eva ports on that fabric and CA zoned to see all.
or should the servers be zoned to see 2 eva ports and CA zoned to see the other 2?

Re: eva8000 zoning
Hi,
This configuration was recommended by HP for an environment very similar to yours......
Fabric A:
Zone = Server1_Zone_Fabric_A_EVA1
Members = Server HBA1, EVA1_TP1, EVA1_BP1
Zone = Server1_Zone_Fabric_A_EVA2
Members = Server HBA1, EVA2_TP1, EVA2_BP1
Zone = EVA_CA_REPLICATION_ZONE
Members = EVA1_TP3, EVA1_BP3, EVA2_TP3, EVA2_BP3
Fabric B:
Zone = Server1_Zone_Fabric_B_EVA1
Members = Server HBA2, EVA1_TP2, EVA1_BP2
Zone = Server1_Zone_Fabric_B_EVA2
Members = Server HBA2, EVA2_TP2, EVA2_BP2
Zone = EVA_CA_REPLICATION_ZONE
Members = EVA1_TP4, EVA1_BP4, EVA2_TP4, EVA2_BP4
Tried and tested for some time now.
Hope this helps.
James
