we have a Blade and EVA w/ switches included and I've been assigned to upgrade the firmware (Fabos OS). So how to know the switch model as I can only see on the Blade is "Brocade 4/12 SAN Switch for HP c-Class BladeSystem" and nothing on the EVA physical hardware. how to via gui or cli?
another thing is where to find the latest firmware in HP website as it only gives me b-class options. maybe i'm doing something wrong.
sorry for the dump question, just a newbie.
tia

Re: how to know switch model?
The OS on the later model Brocades is the same whether they're standalone or intended for c3000 / c7000 enclosures.
The following should get you to the jump off point.
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home
You can just use telnet to get to the switch and login (hopefully you have the password).
version - will show you the current OS. If it's an oldish version you may need a couple of jumps to get up to the latest revision level.

Re: how to know switch model?
Did you mean that the firmware is the both regardless if it's c-class or b-class? pls. clear this out.
actually what I want to know what command to issue to find-out what specific switch model it is.i.e. swi5400,etc. I already know the firmware version. also want to know the latest firmware/list of firmware.
when i search for Brocade 4/12, cannot see any clear stuff...sorry i'm a cisco guy so familiar with Cisco website.
thanks

Might help you out.
See switch type.
43 Brocade 4024 Embedded Switch
Might that be the one you have?
"Brocade 4Gb SAN Switch for HP c-Class BladeSystem" switchType=43.2
c-series with HP are cisco switches
b-series with HP are brocade switches
http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02008507/c02008507.pdf
is release notes for 6.2.2a
See page 9 in there.
"Brocade 4-Gb SAN Switch for HP c-Class BladeSystem (Brocade 4024)"
6.2.2a is the latest one

Re: how to know switch model?
That will give the result for the P and C-class switches.
If you've got an EVA4400 with embedded switches, you will find the FW, search for EVA4400 and then select EVA4400 with embedded switch.
